Christmas potluck sign-up, online and free
A free online sign-up for your Christmas party food. Guests claim a dish by course, everyone sees the whole menu, and you don't end up with four trays of brownies and no main dish.
How it works
- Start a group and invite your guestsBy email, or add the whole list at once from a photo or a spreadsheet.
- Guests claim a dishUnder Appetizers, Main dishes, Desserts or Drinks. Their name shows next to what they're bringing.
- Everyone sees the full menuOne list of every dish and who's bringing it, so people can fill the gaps.
- Change your mind any timeGuests can edit or remove their own dish.
Why not a paper sheet or the group chat?
- A paper sheet only works if everyone sees it. This one is on everyone's phone.
- In a group chat, "I'll bring a salad" scrolls away under forty other messages. Here it stays on the menu.
- Splitting it by course shows at a glance what's missing.
Food and gifts in one place
The same group can run your gift exchange. Draw names for a Secret Santa or a Pollyanna, share wish lists, and plan the food without a second site.
Not everyone has to be in the gift exchange. Guests coming only for dinner can join for the food and the chat and skip the draw.
A few planning tips
- Decide who's making the main dish first, then let everyone else fill in around it.
- Keep an eye on drinks. They're the course people forget.
- Use a poll to settle the date or the start time. Anyone in the group can ask one.
- Post the address and anything people need to know, like a nut allergy, in the group chat.
